Cubes noirs aux fruits

フルーツのチョコレート菓子

INGRÉDIENTS

200 g de chocolat noir amer :ダークチョコレート

6 feuilles de gélatine ou 12 g d’agar-agar : ゼラチンの6枚または寒天12g

2 dl de crème liquide légère : 低脂肪クリーム

1 c. à soupe d’édulcorant (Splenda) : 甘味料(スプレンダ)

100 g de framboises : ラズベリー

1/2 mangue : マンゴー

amer en poudre: ココアパウダー


RECETTE Cubes noirs aux fruits

Coupez le chocolat en petits morceaux. Faites ramollir la gélatine dans de l’eau froide. Faites bouillir la crème dans une casserole. Retirez du feu et ajoutez la gélatine ou la poudre d’agar-agar. Mélangez et ajoutez le chocolat. Laissez reposer 5 mn environ, jusqu’à ce que le chocolat fonde. Lissez ensuite le mélange à la spatule.
Laissez refroidir. Coupez la mangue en petits cubes. Versez la moitié de la préparation dans un moule ou une coupe. Répartissez les fruits dessus, puis versez le reste de crème chocolatée. Laissez prendre au réfrigérateur 4h ou plus. Servez froid, parsemé de cacao tamisé.

チョコレート細かくカットします。ゼラチンは冷たい水で柔らかくします。クリームを鍋で茹でます。火からおろし、ゼラチンまたは粉寒天を加えててください。ゆっくりとよく混ぜてから、チョコレートを追加します。チョコレートが溶けるまで、約5分間まってみましょう。その後、ヘラでダマなどを滑らかにします。
しばらくそのままにし、冷まします。マンゴーを小さなキューブにカットします。半分をそそげ、金型やカップに流し込みましょう。その上に果実を置きます。そして、残りのチョコレートクリームを注ぎます。冷蔵庫で
4時間以上冷まします。つめたくなったチョコに、ふるいにかけたココアを振りかけたら出来上がりです。

Moelleux de ricotta à l’orange

- INGRÉDIENTS -

  • 3 œufs / 卵
  • 60 g de sucre en poudre / パウダーシュガー
  • 1 pot de ricotta (250 g) / リコッタチーズ
  • 1 orange non traitée / オレンジ

- RECETTE de Moelleux de ricotta à l’orange -
(オレンジ風味のふわふわチーズケーキ)

  1. Préchauffez le four à th. 6/180°.
  2. Dans un grand bol, battez les œufs avec le sucre. Ajoutez la ricotta et  le zeste de l’orange découpé en bâtonnets.
  3. Pressez l’orange et incorporez son jus à la préparation. Mélangez bien.
  4. Versez la préparation dans un moule en silicone.
  5. Enfournez et faites cuire 20 mn environ. Le dessus doit être doré.

1’  オーブンを180°にセットしておきます。
2’  大きなボウルに、砂糖と卵を入れ、スティック状に切ったリコッタチーズとオレンジの皮を追加します。
3’  オレンジを絞り、2’に、そのジュースを追加し、よく混ぜます。
4’  シリコンの型に注ぎます。
5’  オーブンで約20分。表面に焼き色がつけば出来上がりです。

「Still」、「already」、「yet」の使い方の違いが分かりますか?もし気づかなかったら、このレッスンで勉強しましょう!

1). Yet

現在完了否定形+yet

物事の完了・結果を期待する時の疑問文や否定文に使います。

Examples:

Have you finished yet? もう終わった?
No, not yet. (I haven’t finished yet) いや、まだだよ。

2). Still

Still+現在完了否定形 / Still+現在進行形

普通は、期待していたよりも長い時間継続している状態や動作を表すのに
使います。驚きや失望を表し、”yet”よりも強いニュアンスになります。

Examples:

He still hasn’t got married いまだに結婚していない

You are still working? I thought you were going to finish at 5pm today?
まだ仕事してるの? もうとっくに、5時に終わってたと思っていた。(驚き)

3). Already

Already+現在完了形

しばしば期待していたよりも早く、物事が起こったことを表すのに使います。

Examples:

It’s only 10am, but I’ve already eaten lunch. (early)
まだ10時だけど、昼ご飯はもう食べた。

注意:

 アメリカ英語では、”already”と”yet”は、過去形にも使われます。

Sucker Punch Movie Review

The other day I noticed a large advertisement in the Hankyu Umeda train station for a new film in theaters now. I was surprised to see the title had changed but I recognized the movie right away. It was the new action-fantasy thriller movie Sucker Punch; the Japanese title is Angel Wars.

I can tell you in all honesty it is one of the most visually stunning and stylized films I have recently seen. The film uses a lot of CGI as much of it was filmed against a green screen. You won’t be disappointed as the visual imagery is astounding!

Here is a short synopsis of what you can expect…

The film was written, produced and directed by Zack Snyder, well known for previous films like 300 and Watchmen.

The central character in the film is Babydoll, played by Emily Browning. The film begins with her being put into an institution for mentally insane people by her stepfather. She is blamed for the death of her younger sister. The film takes place in the institution which Babydoll imagines as a fantastical brothel. She befriends other patients she views as dancers in her fantasy brothel.

When she is first made to dance by the institution’s doctor, she fantasizes a picturesque scene of Feudal Japan where she is encouraged to “escape” by a character she imagines. She then has to battle three giant samurai to proceed. The story becomes a mixture of fantasy and reality from that point on in which every time Babydoll and her friends dance they are immersed in the midst of a fantasy world where they must fight to survive and escape the institution.

I hope you enjoy this visually spectacular film!

Sala is proud to have Chris Corno as part of our teaching team.

Chris comes to us from Vancouver, Canada. He studied graphic design in college, and can speak Japanese at a beginner’s level. His hobbies include cooking, playing ice hockey and traveling. Including Japan he has traveled all over Canada, the U.S. and Mexico. He also enjoys painting and drawing in his free time.
Chris said, “If I won the Lotto 6, I would open a tapas style restaurant in a resort area!”

The「定冠詞」とA「不定冠詞」の使い方の違いが分かりますか?

(1). 特定 VS 一般的

The」は特定なものに対して。一つしかない。
A」か「an」は特定しないものに対して。

例えば:

▲: The black triangle.
▲も△も: A triangle.

I went to the restaurant
near my house.
家の近くのレストランに行った。

(2). 共通認識の「The

共通に認識してる場合は「The」が付きます。
話してと聞き手が共に認識していない場合は「A」か「An」が付きます。
例えば:
Yesterday, I saw a dog. The dog was very big.
一匹の犬を見た。その犬は大きかった。

(3). 集合体の「The

グループ或いは集団を一塊として指す場合は「The」が付きます。
例えば:
The USA. The United Kingdom. The Himalayas.

注意!

一般的に「the ・ a 」を使用しない。

例えば:

I like apples.
I watch English movies everyday.

The King’s Speech

The King's Speech III

Recently, many students here at Sala have mentioned seeing the film The King’s Speech. Have you heard of it? If not, here’s a quick little review on what you can expect!

The film is about King George the 6th, played by the British actor Colin Firth. King George the 6th was born Albert Frederick Arthur George to King George the 5th in 1895. He was also the younger brother of Edward the 8th. He reigned from 1936 to 1952 when he passed away.

The other main character in the film’s plot is Lionel Logue, played by the Australian actor Geoffrey Rush. Lionel Logue was an Australian speech therapist born in 1880 who migrated to England from Australia in 1924. Soon after he began teaching elocution in London schools.

The story focuses on the speech impediment that King George VI had. His speaking disorder stemmed from a considerable stutter, also called a stammer. Can you imagine trying to talk and not being able to get the words out of your mouth? For a king this is unthinkable when he must address his public.

The film lives up to its hype in delivering an excellent story with equally excellent acting. It’s well deserving of the many awards it received and we highly recommend it to you!

Libya

As the situation here in Japan with the nuclear power plant has lessened of late, the world and major news sources have refocused their cameras and attention on the unfolding civil war of sorts in Libya. To bring you up to speed, the country of Libya is in the midst of strong internal strife between its people and the government. In a nut shell, the situation is similar to that of Egypt, with the exception of violence and now seeing the country split into two. On one side there’s the pro-Gaddafi camp and the other the anti-Gaddafi dissenters.

To date, the UN Security Council has voted in favor of enforcing a no-fly zone to protect civilian lives. However, five nations abstained from voting including heavyweights like Russia and China. The resolution and subsequent action taken has arguably helped the anti-Gaddafi dissenters. However, this will by no means deliver them a victory over Col. Gaddafi.

Think about it… What’s your view?

BBC News reported this week, defiant Gaddafi pledges victory.

  • Do you think there is a peaceful resolution to this situation? If yes, what?
  • Should the UN Security Council have intervened?
  • What should the Council’s next move be if any?
  • Do other countries have the right to intervene in a country’s internal affairs? …Why?

Happy St. Patrick’s Day to you!

St. Patrick's day parade

So what is St. Patrick’s Day all about? Well besides the obvious homage to Saint Patrick, the patron saint of Ireland, the day originated as a Catholic holiday and gradually transformed from there into what it is today. Ironically it became an official “feast day” in the early 17th century, and it’s internationally celebrated on the 17th of March every year.

However, St. Patrick’s Day nowadays is known less for its namesake and more for a day to simply celebrate being Irish… or even if you’re not, just celebrate! Some famous celebrations include the Chicago river getting dyed green, Birmingham’s 3km long parade route, championship sports events, and others as well. The most commonly well known customs are that of wearing green and drinking green Irish beer or whiskey.

Other associations with St. Patrick’s is the image of the leprechaun. The little fairy like character popularized by Irish folklore.

So, wear some green and have yourself of pint of Guinness. As they say, “Everyone’s Irish on March 17th!”
